Jon Dorau was born in Finlayson, Minnesota, the third of four boys raised with the values of hard work, faith, and helping your neighbors. In 1996, he moved to Sandstone and has proudly called Pine County home ever since.
Jon started his business in 1997 and went out on his own in 2000. For more than 25 years, he has been self-employed while also spending nearly 30 years as a beef producer. Through business ownership, agriculture, and years of community involvement, Jon understands the challenges facing working families, small businesses, and rural communities across Pine County.
Family, community, and hard work have always been at the center of Jon’s life. A proud grandfather, he takes great pride in his family farm and believes strongly in supporting the local community that has supported him over the years.

Community involvement that brings people together.
Through the annual Dorau Farms Rodeo and other local efforts, Jon has helped bring people together while giving back to the community he calls home.
He served on a Christian school board for six years, served three terms as a township supervisor, and currently serves as township chair. He has also been involved as a Sunday school teacher, youth group leader, Bible study leader, and member of local planning efforts.

Jon understands budgets, responsible spending, and local government from years of hands-on experience working with churches, schools, township government, and small-business finances.
